Dear Mugiyanto,
Acheh Papua Maluku Human Rights Online assures its solidarity with the Indonesian Association of Families of the Disappeared (IKOHI) and to all who are attending the 2nd Congress on March 7-10, 2006 in Makassar, Central Sulawesi.
The disappearance of a child, a brother, sister, wife, husband, grandchild, friend is a grievous burden and heartache. We feel deeply for the families who daily endure the grief, the fear and the terrible uncertainty that state terrorism inflicted on them.
The work of IKOHI is very important in contributing to truth and justice which are the foundations for the peace of mind that eases the suffering of the families of the disappeared and the Congress is vital for creating unity to ensure that justice and the end of the impunity of security forces to perpetrate human rights violations and state murder of the innocent.
Unity is crucial in our work for as the unions say - individually I beg but united we bargain. People power all over the world has achieved great reforms and justices. And recently, it was people power that brought East Timor freedom against the wishes of western and your governments.
I hope that the organizations and individuals attending the Congress will write to the Norwegian Nobel Peace Committee and protest the nomination of President Yudhoyono for the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize postmaster@nobel.no
